IILJ Colloquium 2021: Infrastructure, Rights and Regulation
Fall 2021
Convened by Benedict Kingsbury with a continued focus on “Infrastructure, Rights and Regulation” in connection with the IILJ’s cross-disciplinary InfraReg project. It builds on the Colloquia in Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 that Benedict Kingsbury convened with Sally Engle Merry. Speakers included Alejandro Rodiles, Nahuel Maisley, Amba Kak and Dimitri van den Meerssche.

IILJ Colloquium 2019: Infrastructure, Rights and Regulation
Fall 2019
Convened by Benedict Kingsbury and Sally Engle Merry. Decisions about the design, financing, construction, and use of infrastructure have tremendous effects on all aspects of life, society, economy, and security. This course focused on the relations of infrastructures to law, rights, and regulation. Speakers included Miriam Ticktin, Ashley Carse, and Nikhil Anand.

The first week of July, 2019, the IILJ InfraReg Project held a series of workshops on infrastructure as regulation at the Gioja Institute of the University of Buenos Aires Law School. The InfraReg team included the IILJ director, Benedict Kingsbury, along with Kevin Davis, Angelina Fisher, Paul Mertenskötter, Alejandro Rodiles, and Nahuel Maisley.

IILJ Colloquium 2019: Infrastructure, Rights and Regulation
Spring 2019
As part of the IILJ’s InfraReg project, the 2019 edition of the IILJ Colloquium, convened by Benedict Kingsbury and Sally Engle Merry, focused on the regulatory effects of infrastructure and their regulation by the law. Speakers included Antina von Schnitzler, Kate Crawford, and Mariana Valverde.
