Congratulations to NYU Law’s Space Law Moot Court Team for winning the North American Manfred Lachs Moot Court competition for the second year in a row! We wish them the best at the 2026 World Championships in Antalya, Türkiye.

This year’s team includes Abigail Happ (2L), Shelby Hobohm, MSE (2L) and Morgan Smith (2L). The team is coached by Lilliana Fan, Nina Vanoverbeke, Denis McGrath, received faculty guidance from Professor Benedict Kingsbury, and support from NYU Space Law Society.

The Lachs Moot Court is one of the most prestigious international competitions in space law, attracting participation from over 100 law schools across five global regions. The world finals, held each fall, include preliminary rounds followed by a grand final before a panel of judges from the International Court of Justice.

The North American Regional Competition is organized by Nathan Johnson, SCF Director of Special Projects.
