The Institute for International Law and Justice, the JSD Program, and the Hauser Global Law School Program at NYU School of Law invite you to a conversation with David Dyzenhaus on his new book The War Against Law: What’s Wrong with Common Good Constitutionalism.
The event will take place on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Snow Dining Hall, NYU School of Law, Vanderbilt Hall, 4th Floor, 40 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012.
David Dyzenhaus will present the book, followed by comments from Benjamin Straumann, Matilde Masetti Placci, Megan Pfiffer, and Anja Bossow. The conversation will be moderated by Jeremy Waldron.
The panel will explore the tension between claims to legality and the substance of democratic rule. It will examine David Dyzenhaus’ position and competing views, and ask what emerges for the rule of law, institutions, and liberal democracy.
