Fifth Annual Emile Noël Lecture with Luís Miguel Poiares Pessoa Maduro, First Advocate General of the European Court of Justice. Previous Emile Noel Lecturers have included: 2007: José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Portugal; 2006: Pascal Lamy, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; 2005: Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, Chairman of the European Constitutional Convention and former President of the French Republic; 2004: Giuliano Amato, Former Prime Minister of Italy and Vice President of the European Constitutional Convention.
